The Welschriesling, which is planted on a weathering soil on bed rock surface, forms a focus here. The red wines are planted in deeper sites on sandy lime soils. A method of working following the guidelines of controlled, ecological wine-growing that protects soil and plants, the reduced yield resulting from this and a sparing, focused use of technology are all characteristics of the Mandl family.
