An annual green covering is planted in the vineyards and a straw cover is used in parts; fertilization takes the form of nitrogen. After the harvest the grapes intended for the production of white wine are sulphurized and either pressed immediately (Müller-Thurgau) or left to stand on the must for some time beforehand.
